Yahnundasis Country Club

Located just outside Utica, New York, this sprawling course offers just enough challenge (and just enough quirk) to satisfy any seasoned golfer. The site of multiple NY State Amateur competitions, Yahnundasis (which translates to: “around the hill”) went through some renovations in 2007 to make way for a road change, but the reworked holes fit seamlessly into the traditional, Walter Travis layout.

If you’re interested in beating the crowd, though, make sure to check it out soon. Yahnundasis has been gradually gaining attention in recent years and could soon break out as a top destination among serious and casual golfers alike.

Bella Collina

While it doesn’t advertise as much, Bella Collina, located in Montverde, FL (a few miles outside Orlando), offers rolling hills, lush greens, and all the golf you can play. Ranked by Golf Advisor for its ample array of amenities -- including a clubhouse modeled after a Tuscan villa -- Bella Collina is a peek into the past of ultra-exclusive luxury golfing.

Top of the Rock

Designed by Jack Nicklaus, with a practice course designed by Arnold Palmer, and located in the heart of Branson, MI, Top of the Rock is a golf lover’s dream come true. As one of the Big Cedar Lodge’s two courses, Top of the Rock gets its name from its unique location on an elevated peak. Nicklaus’ par-3 course is just one of the attractions golfers can enjoy in the area, as Branson has become a popular destination among those in-the-know over the past few years.

Clearwater Belleview Biltmore Golf Club

Originally built in 1987 and enjoying a few facelifts over the years, Clearwater, FL’s Bellview Biltmore offers everything an experienced golfer could want. With two courses within a short drive of one another, the courses at the Bellview offer modern amenities and design features while staying true to their historical roots. Players can enjoy the original, Donald Ross-designed 36 holes or drive down the road for more fun at the Pelican Club’s additional 18-hole course.
