Installing a Lutron Radio RA2 3-Way Switch
We recently filmed a video for training purposes on how to replace a set of standard three-way switches with Lutron Radio RA2 three-way switches. Let’s start with the basics.
What is a three-way switch?
Three-way switches control lights and receptacles from two points. For example, a light in a hallway that can be operated from the first and second floor. Or, a light in a garage that can be turned on/off from the garage and the kitchen. Three-way switches require a three-wire cable: the power wire, the neutral wire, and the traveler or switch wire.
What is RadioRA2?
RadioRA2 is a wireless total home control system made by Lutron. It’s an energy-saving system that gives you the ability to adjust the amount of daylight and electric light (using light controls and automated shades) as well as temperature in a single room or throughout your whole home. The system also turns off standby power to small appliances when they’re not in use.
Why would I want total home control?
With Radio RA2 you can:
