Outdoor Music Systems are Heating Up!

Outdoor Music Systems are Heating Up!

Why there’s never been a better time to reinvent your outdoor space

In the past 5 years,  there’s been a rediculous amount of new tech for the backyard, from color changing LED lighting to WiFi and outdoor music. For the past decade or two, all anyone had was speakers hidden inside fake rocks.  Now, you can surf the web, change your pool and landscape colors, heat the jacuzzi, and pick your favorite song from your chair.

As a result, nearly every speaker manufacturer in the country is scrambling to dominate the category.  Making these amazing speaker systems that resemble outdoor lighting fixtures and other contemporary shapes and styles, designers, architects, and homeowners can all rejoice at the sound that compliments the surroundings.  Because all of these look and sound amazing, each speaker company is coming up with ways to differentiate themselves and/or be the price leader.  Below are just a few of the discounts going on right now:

James Loudspeaker:

James, a speaker company less known by the general public, has been in business or over 20 years.   Known more by professionals, James has been making high-quality speakers for both indoor and outdoor spaces, and is considered one of the true innovators of the new style of landscape audio systems.  This year, James has added various promotions to their outdoor products, adding up to what could be very substantial pricing opportunities on the bigger landscapes out there.  A few pics are below, and they can be found at jamesloudspeaker.com

SpeakerCraft and Niles:

Speakercraft and Niles are a pair of audio brands recently brought together in a large merger within Nortek Security.  Niles is one of the oldest kids on the outdoor audio block, making products since 1983. They are most likely the “fake rock” speakers that you have seen in the backyards of luxury homes for the past 20 years. Now under the same umbrella, SpeakerCraft has taken a lesson from the innovation playbook and introduced the new Terraza system. Designed for smaller areas, the Terraza system comes in at a fraction of the cost, making it ideal for those backyards measured in square footage instead of acreage. And while most designers and homeowners have started to shy away from the fake rock speakers, Niles also offers other items that can help when versatility is needed.  For example, they have a tree planter that has speakers in it.

Origin Acoustics:

A lesser known company, Origin Acoustics, is a bit newer to the scene.  As equally innovative as the aforementioned, Origin is known among audio companies as simplifying the installation process of architectural speakers inside the home.  Now trying their hand in the outdoor space, their landscape products are both great sounding and looking.  While they have a similar landscape system to their competitors, they also recently unveiled a beautiful “bollard” style speaker that looks like a slender pole coming out of the ground.  It looks similar to something you’d see lighting the walkway from the parking lot to your local country club entrance.  This device contains the lighting, speakers, and subwoofer all in 1, and sounds terrific.  They look fantastic and like other manufacturers, Origin is offering various promos this spring to help solidify their position in the outdoor sound market.  Find out more at originacoustics.com and check out the picture below:
