1. OLED Prices Dropping

Televisions have become incredibly affordable over the last few years. The cost is plummeting, the average size sold is increasing and smart technology is in just about every TV sold in the US. But one thing that has been overlooked on the most affordable TVs is the quality of the picture. The current king of picture quality is OLED, or Organic LED, technology. OLED creates a lifelike picture with dark blacks and incredible contrast, so nothing looks muted and gray. OLED prices have been dropping as well, making the best possible TVs more accessible than ever. When you consider your next TV don’t just look at how cheap of a TV you can find, consider how great of an experience you can now get for your money with OLEDs from Sony and LG.

2. Attractive Speakers

Architectural speakers, or speakers designed to be installed in walls and ceilings, don’t really change much. But in the last few years we have seen a huge increase in the use of invisible and “small aperture” speakers across all BRAVAS locations. These speakers used to look better while sounding worse. But as of the last year or so invisible and small aperture speakers are now among the best sounding options available, truly letting us have our cake while eating it too. 

Invisible speakers are installed in the drywall and textured or wall-papered over, leaving them completely hidden. Small aperture speakers remove the large speaker grill and replace it with a small opening, typically just 3-4”, designed to match current lighting trends. Both can help provide that truly unique finishing touch for a modern luxury home, and we expect to see more this year than ever before. 

3. Quality Materials

Another trend that we see growing in 2022 is an increase in the quality of materials going into home technology, specifically those things homeowners interact with directly like light switches. Lutron newest keypads, Lutron Alisse and Lutron Palladiom feature metal and glass in place of plastic, better matching the quality of client’s hardware, countertops, and light fixtures. We are seeing metal bodies on Savant remote controls, brushed metal finishes on Lutron roller shade hardware and the removal of cheap hardware like thermostats.
