Operations Manager
Reports To: General Manager
Objective: To oversee all aspects of production and service; ensuring efficiency, quality, and excellent customer experience in all aspects of operations.
Summary of Position:
The Operations Manager is responsible for all aspects of production and service across the company. The OM is tasked with staffing, recruiting, and retention of technical personnel to achieve the company vision statement. The OM assists the General Manager and department heads in accomplishing business objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for revenue output by production team
- Ensuring that revenue plan is met or exceeded
- Ensuring that gross margin is met or exceeded
- Responsible for carrying out the project expectations of salesperson/client/builder
- Responsible for meeting the installation schedule for client/builder
- Responsible for meeting the performance expectations of client
- Responsible for service performance and customer service
- Responsible for managing production staffing versus revenue potential
- Responsible for managing production costs (inventory mgmt., freight, tools, etc.…)
- Responsible for managing production fixed assets (fleet, computers, etc.…)
- Responsible for documentation of project and communication to accounting, sales, etc.…
- Oversee scheduling (prefer either dedicated scheduler or PM doing scheduling)
- Oversee purchasing (prefer dedicated purchaser)
- Oversee inventory management (dedicated purchaser)
- Receiving/shipping/staging
- Physical inventory counts
- Manage technicians
- Hiring/firing
- Performance management/reviews
- Attendance/tardiness
- Dress code
- Manage service department
- Manager project manager(s)
- Quality Assurance
- Conduct production meetings
- Training
- Follow-up calls to clients (or oversee service manager making the calls)
- Management of Service & Support plans and remote management
- Manage fleet of vehicles
- Tool management
- Manage cleanliness of office
Qualifications:
The Operations Manager position requires proficiency in the following skills and qualifications: Performance Management & Coaching experience; Staffing, Management, Proficiency & Process Improvement are necessities for this position. Basic computer skills with the ability to become competent in in house job management software.
