This incredible rural lake house is the homeowners’ escape from their busy day-to-day lives. To make their vacation home as relaxing as possible Bravas installed a full array of smart home features, employing the same brands that we used at their primary home.

This home is built around the outdoors, taking full advantage of the gorgeous lake views shared by the owner’s suite, the living area, the guest suite, and the pool. The home is filled with glass and uses smart Lutron Roller Shades to control the plentiful sunlight. These shades are controlled by Lutron keypads, as are the lights, which are on the same Lutron system.
Both the indoor and outdoor areas get the benefit of great audio and video systems. In the main house living area, small aperture speakers are used to match the lights and allow the focus to be on the wood ceiling. Upstairs, a swiveling TV allows the primary bedroom to enjoy the lake views, while still giving the option to relax and watch TV when desired.
Outdoors, Origin bollard speakers surround the pool, while a TV sits in a custom enclosure to protect it from the sometimes harsh lakefront environment. In the seating area, more speakers provide audio for both music streaming and TV viewing.
Not only do the homeowners enjoy the lake, but the home also features many other outdoor amenities, including the pool, sport court, firepit and outdoor kitchen. All those areas are covered by a Bravas-installed surveillance system, so the owners can remotely view their vacation home whenever they choose.
All technologies are marshalled through a whole-home NICE (formerly ELAN) control system. This system allows the use of remotes, phones, tablets and touch panels to control the home, with keypads also available to control lights and shades.
