Wireless Meets Luxury with Palladiom Wire-Free Shades
Many design elements that are used in modern luxury homes are considered “jewelry” for the home. Onyx countertops, handmade door hardware and chandeliers are just a few examples. But when Lutron released their Palladiom line of motorized shades and lighting keypads they added a new entrant into the category. Palladiom replaced the utilitarian plastic switch and shade mounting brackets with finishes that we aren’t just ok seeing in our homes, they become things we want to show off.
The biggest downside to using Palladiom shades in the past was the amount of labor it took to get the install completed. Integrators had to coordinate extensively with framers, drywall crews, window installers and superintendents to ensure a perfect install. Homeowner’s also had to commit early to shades, or miss out on the opportunity to use Palladiom shades altogether.
With the newly announced Palladiom Wireless shades those two biggest obstacles have been removed. With Palladiom wireless shades the ability to enjoy the beauty and functionality of Palladiom has become much more accessible. If a client decides after the house is finished to add a shade they can.
Palladiom Wireless shades use the same energy saving technology as other Lutron battery shades, meaning they can be used for windows up to 12’x12’ and a single set of D-Cell batteries will last 3-5 years. Lutron battery powered shades are also nearly silent, and still have the ability to use IHA, or Intelligent Hembar Alignment. This technology allows all of the shades in a room to move perfectly in-sync, getting rid of the ugly “snaggletooth” effect other shades often suffer from. You can watch the product reveal video from Lutron below.
